Holocaust post
Wednesday, March 05, 2008 - 50 years' ago, Rogers' and Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC opened on Broadway. The authors had been warned that one of their songs, "You've got to be taught to hate," was inappropriate for an American musical. They replied, but "this song represents the whole point of the show." They kept it in. A few weeks ago, I was asked to teach a Holocaust segment to my granddaughter's 5th grade class.

Introduction and Welcome
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 - It's a complex world, and if you are like me, you are trying your best to understand what is going on and how to make a life out of the best of it, and some meaning out of the rest of it. I do this with an ongoing conflict analysis of the news and current events. It makes the news seem less disturbing if i think I have some sort of insight into how things got to be the way they are. It's those moments of insight and clarity that I'm seeking in my conflict analyses.

Accounting Theory
Monday, March 08, 2010 - Accounting has for too long been dependent on dominant economic ideologies. This book examines how knowledge is created and argues that accounting, as an impoortant social information system, must draw on soccial, political and legal theories as well as economic and must go beyond mere technical considerations and appreciat that accounting is socially constructed and socially constructuring.

European Identity and Cultural Pluralism
Friday, December 07, 2007 - Europe not only is a crossroad of a globalised business world, Europe itself mirrors more and more the Globe with its cultural mix, not alone in our bigger cities, but even in many small towns and SME businesses. Just to give you one example: Birmingham is heading to be one of the first cities in Europe to be predominantly non-white with European and non-European ethnic citizens that make up for more than the majority.

Mobilities
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - Issues of movement - of people, things, information and ideas - are central to people's lives and to most organisations. Issues of 'mobility' are centre-stage upon many academic and policy agendas. These topics and issues are increasingly analysed as part of a concern with 'mobility' which this wide-ranging book both describes and seeks to develop.

Eckhart, Conscience and God
Saturday, August 07, 2010 - “On a more personal note you mentioned that God becomes man and man becomes God. My God, by the way is my conscience, morality and humanity. Would you say my God is in keeping with this God”? Ethon Lowe PS. “One often indulges in arguments about God. Yet no one is able to explain convincingly who or what is God? Rather than ask, "do you believe in God", shouldn't we ask, "What do you believe about God"? After all, your God is not necessarily my God…”.

Meister Eckhart and the Haitian Earthquake
Saturday, August 07, 2010 - This is...the ‘Eternal Now’ that he spoke about; a time when contemplation and action, virginity (sterility) and wifedom (fruitfulness); time and eternity, man and God – these sets of equations - now converge into effective action. It is at this intersection of the Eternal Now, that God becomes Man, and Man becomes God – rather Man is God (homo-divinus), and recreates, remakes anew, despite and inspite of Haiti’s earthquake.

Saturday, August 14, 2010 - “Therefore it was very well said by our Lord that ‘a nobleman went away to a distant country to gain a kingdom for himself and returned’. This means that ‘man must be one in himself and must seek it in himself and in one – that is, to see God alone; and ‘returning’ is being aware and knowing that one knows God and is aware of it”. Thursday, August 26, 2010 - This new book edited by James P. Muldoon, Jr., JoAnn Aviel, Richard Reitano, and Earl Sullivan focuses on the various dynamics of contemporary multilateralism as it relates to today's global issues, global institutions, and global governance.
